Good night to everybody, today we are going to talk
about a topic about which everybody had talked yesterday, and it's AIDS,
because yesterday was de world day against AIDS.
First of all we have to make a difference between
AIDS and HIV; AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. This syndrome is
because of the HIV, a human immunodeficiency virus.
HIV, is a virus in the subgroup of retrovirus, is transmitted
by the contact of fluids such as blood, saliva, mucosae and from the mother to
her baby. This virus in its structure has a protein (p-24) though it, the virus
join to the mucosae cells, and those cells go to the dendritic cells (immune
system) this joining together activates the cellular immunity and the humoral
immunity, and are taken and metabolized by CD4 cells.
CD4 cells multiply themselves and break inside of the
cells, putting virions inside those cells, and as a result, the cells would
contain the protein p-24. The cellular immunity are carried out by the CD8 with
the natural killer, both of them destroy all the infected cells with the
viriones.
In the other hand, if a person has HIV, we don't have
to judge them, as we do sometimes and get wrong conclusions, so some years ago,
HIV was transmitted by blood transfusions made in the hospitals, because the
blood wasn't analyzed to detect if it contained the virus.
We have to stand out that the virus is transmitted by
contacting fluids and not by the air or by a simply contact between skin making
sure that there isn't any wound. This disease is enclosed in the STD (sexually
transmitted diseases) because it is the way where only the involved people can
have carefulness; because of the fact of destroying all the needles or items
which have been in contact or not with an infected person. The only one method
to prevent the contagion is using condom while you are having sexual relations.
The AIDS can appear even 10 year after had got the
virus. When you think that you could have got the virus don't doubt and go to
your hospital to have you blood analyzed, this way you could have treatment to
delay the appearance of the AIDS, and some infections.
Our recommendation is always
take step to prevent STD like this one. There're two videos explaining how the
virus infects our cells
